Australian Senator hails regional election as an example for Iraq

Dear Mr President,
Following a meeting on 11 August 2009 with the Australian Representative of the Iraqi Kurdistan Regional Government, Mr Haval Aziz Syan, I take the liberty to write to congratulate you on your recent re-election to the Presidency of the Regional Government.
The process of the election is a great credit to all those involved. It is an example to the rest of Iraq.
I have keenly observed the development and growth economically and politically of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq with great admiration and thankfulness, particularly given all the traps and snares that may have destroy such a peaceful development. The people of the Kurdistan Region have shown a single-minded focus to assure their lives and homeland are rich in harmony and wealth.
Congratulations and best wishes for the Iraq Kurdistan Region. We rely on your success.
