Department of Art & Culture

The Department of Art & Culture provides Americans a window into the spectacular culture, heritage and history of Iraqi Kurdistan. By promoting  Kurdistans millennia old culture in the United States, we aim to show our frends in the United States that there is more than just politics when it comes to Iraq and the Kurdistan Region.

Our cultural outreach program ensures that home villages and provinces are remembered and traditions celebrated. It is just one of the many ways that dance, folklore and cuisine from Iraqi Kurdistan have been sampled and enjoyed at cultural festivals throughout the United States and Canada.

The program also gives our American friends a taste of the Kurdistan Region’s plural heritage, through cuisine, traditional costumes, music, dance and so much more. Even Hollywood now consults with the KRG’s Washington D.C. liaison office in its bid to find new and exciting locations for filming.
