Hotels have increased from 241 in 2001 to 494 in 2010.
According to the Hotels and Restaurant Union, the Kurdistan Region has 128 hotels: 46 in Erbil, 37 Sulaimani, and 45 in Duhok. The motels also number 74; Erbil has 12, Sulaimani 30 and Dohuk 25. There are plans to build some tourist camps.
